1964年4月生在北京，1983年9月考入北京大学中文系。1997年7月获北京大学文学博士学位，现任教于北京大学中文系。曾获珠江国际诗歌节大奖（2007年），“华语文学传媒大奖·2008年度诗人奖”（2009）；并入选“中国当代十大杰出青年诗人”（2005），“1979-2005中国十大先锋诗人”（2006）。“中国十大新锐诗歌批评家”（2007）。“当代十大新锐诗人”（2007）。出版诗集有《燕园纪事》《宇宙是扁的》《空城计》《慧根丛书》《小挽歌丛书》《骑手和豆浆》《必要的天使丛书》等。

虎纹伯劳从未制造过
一粒垃圾。它们的排泄物
在蚂蚁的眼中更像是
缩过水的金字塔。如果你不认识
虎纹伯劳，只知道麻雀，
也会不影响上面的结论。
如果你还不解其中的含义，
那么，燕山的深处，或者此时此刻
就以你目力所及，任何一片落叶
也不曾制造过半毫克的垃圾。
和我们相比，任何情况下，
石头都不会是石头的垃圾。
但是，人，有可能是人的垃圾。
福柯的秃顶有看头呢，甚至令新月
也开始熟悉无名的嫉妒——
这中间的垃圾，确乎有点费解，
所以，阿赫马托娃断言：
尽管如此，我仍为我丢弃过的垃圾
感到无名的羞耻。我的命运
即我最大的垃圾，我不求祈
你能有同感。而这一切
和我在玉渡山景区入口处了解到的
一点也不极端。对照着指示牌，
我翻检了一下随身的物品：
玻璃瓶，香烟，易拉罐，塑料袋，
尼龙围脖，皮鞋，橘子，还真不少。
塑料，200年；易拉罐，100年；
皮革，50年；尼龙织品，40年；
橘子皮，2年。忽然之间，
我觉得这样的真相比萨特叫嚷
他人即地狱，更严酷。
我甚至觉得，我们死后，
那抛向大海的骨灰，也已足够奢侈。

悲观主义者很少会爱上蘑菇，
或像你那样，忠实于蘑菇带给你的感觉。
常识告诉你，没背叛过虚无的人

雪很厚，厚到你
甚至会同意我们做过的梦中
已经有了最好的答案。
很厚的雪将你圈回到
人类饥饿的核心；但假如你不饿，
雪也可以是最好的玩具。
雪的乳房辽阔而冰冷——
不论你抚摸到什么，你的脑海
都逃不过一只白蚂蚁的独裁。
还是静静的观摩容易产生
比真理还净白的感觉：
有些人始终呆在雪的上面，
从未令诗的不朽迟疑过半秒种；
有些人则活在雪的下面，
靠咀嚼树根，和你保持密切的联系。

深山之中，白色的寂静
比任何时候都更像雪的音乐——
北美的寒风，树枝的摇曳，
短暂的冬季的阳光，都加入过
它的基调。甚至回音的肩膀
也很宽，宽到你和鸽子
可以同时站上去，旁观世界之谜
偶尔也会讨教人生的回味。
要么就是，我早已在我抵达之前
就蛰居在对面；无论我们的
真相如何复杂，单纯的聆听本身
已构成一次彻底的解决。
这样的安排也许并无深意，
甚至有点随便，就好像
你，看不见你的白耳朵，

远处，铅灰色的云雾
解开了世界的吊带。慢慢出鞘的是
被耀眼的积雪舔过的，
据说偶尔还能看到棕熊脚印的，
脾气甚至好过天堂的
阿巴拉契亚山脉的大小峰峦。
近处，密集的光溜溜的灌木枝条
无知于它们曾构成怎样的阻碍。
野兔的足迹看上去像是
从另一个猎人的脑海中直接
复印下来的；出窍的仿佛也不是
一直出没在你身边，你却从未见过的我。

一百年来，汉语新诗的发展与外国诗歌及其翻译的影响密不可分，但双方的互动也始终存在不对等的问题。随着中国当代文学的崛起，当代汉语诗歌期待在更广阔的语境中发声，同世界文学达成愈加丰富的交流与对话。
为进一步繁荣新时代诗歌，推动汉语诗歌走向世界，激励本土诗人们创作出具有世界影响力的优秀作品，中国诗歌网与美国华盛顿PATHSHARERSBOOKS（出版有季刊21stCenturyChinesePoetry）合作开展汉诗英译活动。《诗刊》每期刊登的诗作及中国诗歌网“每日好诗”中的佳作，将有机会被译成英语，刊于21stCenturyChinesePoetry，并在中国诗歌网做专题展示。
