在嘉義市時,每年都開辦高中以上程度的暑假密集班。每每看到學生們在很短的時間內，便與老師們熟悉且互動良好，不管在上課前或下課後，總見他們與老師們在櫃枱區用英語侃侃而談，就覺得密集性的學習效果真的很好。
搬到太保後，今年仍希望學生們能在密集性學習下進步，所以便在周一至周五的下午2點至4點，先上1小時的會話課，再上1小時的文法課。
由於學生們會到補習班用餐，所以便利用上課前的時間，放映外語電影讓他們觀賞。當然要趁此機會，加強聽力，所以便要求他們每人得記個2到3個句子。學生們便將耳朵豎起，好好地聽。一方面訓練聽力，另外也是口音認知的學習。除此之外，也會安排些遊戲，複習及加強單字及拼字能力。學生們玩得不亦樂乎。藉由遊戲中的比賽，學生們均卯足勁地唸出單字，努力地想要為自己團隊爭分，很快地，他們便把單字複習了一遍。
第一個小時的會話課，依照傳統，當然是利用不同的活動方式，讓學生開口說話、熟悉不同的口語句型，其中也不乏單字的學習。第二個小時的文法課，傳統觀念上一定是沉悶且枯燥的，但我們的課程卻大量利用遊戲、活動讓學生們學習，例如：我們會利用口耳相傳的遊戲，訓練句子的完整性與正確性。課程進行中，當然會有書寫練習、閱讀小故事及家課，以幫助學生活化印象。
傳統的英文教學，一直都是填鴨式教育。在英典，我們卻希望用活化的教學方式，培養大家快樂的學習心態，將美語視為生活的一份子，而不是一門學科，用它也愛上它。
很高興，在各個老師的努力下，我們看到這群學生努力地練習單字，而且在一對一的口語練習時，可以準確且不慌張地回答問題，且按時地完成功課。我們相信，這個暑假密集課程結束後，這群學生們的功力將更上層樓。

大考中心今天（3）公布學測國文及英文科非選擇題閱卷原則，國文作文「自勝者強」，只要考生扣緊題旨發揮，舉證詳實貼切，修辭優美，可拿到A等，英文作文今年為書信寫作，要寫信勸告沈溺電玩的好朋友，只要考生寫出細節，文字流暢，應該有不錯分數。
學測國文科閱卷召集人世新大學中文系教授蔡芳定表示，從兩千份試閱卷中發現，非選擇題第一、第二大題，只要符合題幹要求，敘述清楚，分析正確而深入，文字流暢可得「A等」。至於引導寫作，要考生依據親身感受或所見所聞以老子「自勝者強」為題，考生大多從自己的經驗來寫，也有考生以蘇打綠樂團的一首歌《狂熱》破題，或舉超人、武俠小說人物、賈柏斯、曾雅妮等人不斷戰勝自己為例，只要考生能夠詮釋自勝者強的意涵，又能舉證貼切深刻，文字流暢，將可拿到A等。
學測英文非選擇題分翻譯及作文，英文科閱卷召集人政治大學英文系教授賴惠玲表示，中翻英考的都是基本句型跟詞彙，考生大多錯在中英文詞序不同及被動語態部分，每小題4分，每個錯誤扣0.5分，英文作文考書信寫作，如果考生寫的字數不足、書信格式不當或沒依題目要求的英文名字，總分將各扣一分。大考中心將在2月13號寄發成績單，後續也將上網公布學測國文及英文作文佳作。

根據研究，每天兩杯茶或有助提高女性懷孕機率。研究發現，女性規律喝茶，懷孕機率比不喝茶者高27%。
However,thesameresearchfoundconsumingtwocola-stylefizzydrinksdailyseemstoreduceawoman’sprospectsofconceiving–anditmakesnodifferenceifthecolaisadietorsugaryversion.Womenwhodrankthesesoftdrinksatleasttwiceadayreducedtheirchancesofbecomingpregnantby20percent.Therewasnoeffectonthechancesofpregnancyforwomenwhopreferredtodrinkcoffee.
但同份研究發現，每天喝兩份可樂一類的氣泡飲料，似乎會降低女性懷孕的可能，而且不管是喝減肥可樂或含糖可樂都沒有差別。每天至少喝兩次這些軟性飲料者，會降低20%的懷孕機率。女性喜歡喝咖啡，對懷孕機率沒有影響。

這份發現是根據3,600名積極嘗試想懷寶寶的女性為研究對象，研究作者、波士頓大學的海區，希望了解攝取咖啡因對想懷孕的女性是否有影響。
ProfHatchsaid："Wefoundthatwomenwhodrankteatwoorthreetimesadaydidhavea27percentincreasedchanceofbecomingpregnant.Wedon’tknowhowtheytooktheteaoriftheyaddedmilkorlemon,buttheyhadthisincreasedchanceofgettingpregnantoverwomenwhodidnotdrinkteaatall."
海區教授表示：「我們發現每天至少喝2到3次茶的女性，懷孕機率確實增加27%。我們不知道她們怎麼喝茶，或是有沒有加牛奶或檸檬，不過她們懷孕機率比完全沒喝茶的女性增加。」
