Thestandarddividesdrivingautomationintosixlevels.Levels0to2featuredriverassistance,wherethesystemassistshumansindynamicdrivingtasksandthedrivingsubjectremainsthedriver.Levels3to5refertomoreautonomousdrivingexperiences,wherethesystemperformsdynamicdrivingtasksinsteadofhumansunderthedesignedoperatingconditions,andthedrivingsubjectisthesystemwhenthefunctionisactivated.

Chipshortagesareacurrentchallenge,andtheCICVpredictedtheproblemwillcontinuetohaveanegativeimpactonthesalesandpenetrationofcarswithLevel2drivingassistance.
