Abstract:Atpresent,thediscussionoftheelephantintheacademiccirclemainlyfocusesonthefieldofecologyorhistory,andmoreconcernsaregiventotherelationshipbetweentheenvironmentalchangesandthechangesofelephants,andtherelationshipbetweenhumansandelephantsinthehistoricalperiod.Theculturalstudiesmostlydiscusstheculturalmeaningofelephantsinacertainperiod,butlessontheoverallstudyoftheculturalimplicationoftheancientChineseelephants.Theelephants,havingexistedinancientChina,arecloselyrelatedtotheproductionandlifeoftheancestors,andgivenvarioussymbolicmeaningsinthehistoricalprocess.Therefore,weshouldpayattentiontothediscussionoftheculturalconnotationofelephants.Aselephantsarewidelyinvolvedinhumansocialactivities,itisaneffectivewaytoexploretheculturalconnotationofelephantsfromtheperspectivesofpolitics,religionandfolklore.
