IwishIwouldhavehadthisappyearsago.Ihadbeensavingmyrecipesforyearsonmybrowserfavoritesandtherewasnowaytoorganizethemefficiently.Ihadmybrowserrecipes,worddocumentrecipesandtheoldschool,food-stainednotecardrecipes.Isawthisappmentionedonthelocalnewsasoneof4reviewedsoIlookedatallofthemandchosethisone.AftertryingtheURLimportfeature,theInstagramandTikTokimportfeature,themanualinputfeature,theChromeextensionforlaptop,ANDthescanfeatureformyhandwrittenrecipesIwasconvincedthiswastherightoneforme.Whenscanningtherecipesthetranscribingwasridiculouslyaccurate(dependingonyourhandwriting).Oncetranscribedtotheappyoucanadjustservings,anditwillautomaticallyadjustyouringredientmeasurements.Iamnotonetopayforapps,butIdidn’tevenquestionthecheaplifetimesubscriptionbecausecookingissomethingwedoalmosteveryday.
Thisisaverycomprehensiveappforrecipestorageandinmyopinionissuperiortothe“traditional”onesthatpeoplementionsuchasPaprika,Whisk,etc.Mygoalwastohaveanappthathadacloudstoragecomponentaswellasallowedforrecipestobe“shared”withanotherperson.Wehavealotofphysicalcookbooksthatwewantedtohaveinadigitalformat.Wealsowantedtobeabletodirectlyaddrecipesfromawebsiteaswell.Manyoftheotherappsoutthereofferedsomeofthesefeatures,butnotthewholespectrumofthem.Themostcommonlymissingfeatureamongthecompetitorappsistheabilitytosharerecipeswithanotheruser.Thisappisverystreamlinedwiththe“share”feature.IhappenedtofindoutviathisappviaaRedditpostafterIhadtriedabout8orsoappsandwasgrowingfrustratedwithnotbeingabletofindonethatdeliveredexactlywhatIwanted.ThisappdeliversandIamverygladIdiscoveredit.
Iloveallofthefeaturesthatthisapphastooffer,importingandcreatingrecipesisquick,easilyaccessible,andstreamlinedsoyoudon’tmissastep.TheUIiscleanandsynonymouswithIOS,whichissomethingIappreciatefornoreasonatall.Thegrocerylistisgreat,it’seasytoedititemcategoriesandotherinformation.Ihavenonegativethingstosayaboutthisapp,allfeaturesaregreat,onlyrequestsforadditionalfeaturesinhopesofitbecomingabetterapp.-Iwouldloveiftherewasageneral‘Calendar’insteadofonlyamealplan“calendar”.ThemealplanfeatureisextremelyusefulbutageneralCalendarthatincorporatesallofthemealplanfeatureswouldbethemostuseful.-Morecustomizationwithcookbooks!Coverphotos,indexpages,maybesidebarsubcategoriesTheabilitytotagrecipesisgreat!Butacleanercookbookpagewouldmakefindingrecipesalittleeasier!
