Regionalfinanceplaysatremendousroleinpromotingregionaleconomicdevelopment.Thispaperranksandclusterstheregionalfinancialdevelopmentlevelofthirty-oneprovincesandmunicipalitiesofChinafrom2006to2008byusingfactorandclusteranalysismethods.AnalysisresultsshowthatthedifferenceofregionalfinancialdevelopmentlevelnotonlyexistsbetweentheeastandMidwest,butobviouslyineveryregion;comprehensiveleveloffinancialdevelopmentincentralregionisslightlylowerthanwesternregion;financialdevelopmentlevelofChinacanbedividedintofourechelonsbyregion.Tonarrowthedifferenceoftheregionalfinancedevelopment,thepaperputsforwardsomesuggestionssuchasimplementingthefinancialregulationpolicydifferently;puttingtheregionaldevelopmentpolicyintopractice;carryingoutthefinancialdevelopmentmodeandpolicydifferentiallyandsoon.
